How You Can Help - Jessie Bullens-Crewe Fund

The Jessie Bullens-Crewe Fund is a public charity raising money for cancer research. Currently, all Jessie BC (Beat Cancer) revenue is allocated to the Maine Children's Cancer Program (MCCP).

The Jessie BC Fund is affiliated with the Jessie Bullens-Crewe Foundation, but operates as a separate entity. Both depend upon donations to keep our programs working, but the Fund is a public charity, and the Foundation is a private endowment.

Why the difference? The Foundation was created first, and it remains a separate entity so that we can maintain flexibility in giving. Being able to support the various causes that mattered so much to Jessie is a key principle in the work of the Foundation.

The Fund, on the other hand, is a public charity, which means that it is subject to much greater federal oversight. We created the Fund because so many contribution mechanisms, including most employer matching programs, restrict themselves to public charities.

The Jessie Bullens-Crewe Fund is the primary fund-raising charity for the Maine Children's Cancer Program. Your support for the Jessie BC Fund helps with pediatric cancer research and care, as well as the psychosocial programs so crucial to the care at MCCP.
